Kevin Oliver has joined the firm as Of Counsel to bring his years of experience to the firm’s varied clients. Before joining Whitehurst & White, Kevin spent more than a decade as National Trial Counsel for a major commercial insurance carrier and handled the most serious and complex personal injury cases encountered by that carrier’s insureds. Kevin also spent 4 years on the National Trial Team of a major Plaintiff’s personal injury firm, handling medical malpractice, medical product liability, and serious medical injury cases from coast to coast. Kevin also spent more than a decade as a partner with a regional litigation firm, trying cases all over the state of Texas. Kevin was a law school classmate of founding partner David Whitehurst and they worked together for several years at the regional litigation firm Strasburger & Price, LLP. While in Law School, Kevin had the honor of serving on Baylor’s Mock Trial Team and won Regional and National Championships under the guidance of Louis Muldrow and Gerald. R. Powell.

Kevin’s current practice includes the preparation and trial of serious personal injury cases involving premises liability, trucking, dram shop liability, product liability, and medical malpractice claims.

Certifications, Court Admissions, and Professional Honors:

Kevin Is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and has held that distinction for more than 20 years. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Kevin has been admitted to the State Bar of Texas since 1988. He has been a member of DRI and TADC. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2011 and maintains that license in inactive status until needed by one of the Firm’s clients.  He has been selected as a “Super Lawyer” in every year in which he was eligible for selection. He was selected as one of the 40 best lawyers under 40 by Texas Monthly in 2001. He is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell.
